EFTA01021802 Robert "Radical Breakthroughs" on Closer To Truth Report and Schedule September 26, 2018 The following Report and Schedule is as of September 26, 2018. To begin, we reiterate our / Closer To Truth's (CTT) commitment to produce "Radical Breakthroughs" with highest standards of scientific integrity, artistic sensibilities and audience appeal. This exciting and important series will be the first time CTT will dedicate an entire season of 13 episodes for broadcast on PBS and other high-quality public TV stations, and build a special segment ("neighborhood") on the CU website. Since commencement of production, we have focused on assembling a dedicated team to support the senior CTT team in producing "Radical Breakthroughs, while we continue to both refine our preproduction book and, most importantly, plan how to implement and optimize the complex production with so many contributors in diverse locations. As of September 1, the Radical Breakthroughs dedicated team is in place and working (primarily on continuing research on targeted contributors, prioritizing and organizing them). Video editors and assistants in post-production. EFTA01021803 Following is our working schedule and plan. By the end of October, we expect to finish primary research and narrow down the targeted contributor list. At this same time. we will then begin to contact contributors in order to, first, assess their interest in participating, and if so (we expect the large majority will), second, get details from them that will help us to schedule our shoots with optimum efficiency for us and convenience for them. Scheduling shoots are the most complex parts of CT production; this is especially true for "Radical Breakthroughs" because there are many more contributors than usual (without much overlap among episodes). We estimate we will need to contact more than 70 potential contributors; even so, we expect that the outreach portion of this process will go reasonably rapidly. In November and December, we will begin reconnaissance trips (recces) to assess the shooting locations. These recces, working with local "fixers", are essential for both artistic excellence and operational efficiencies. The general locations where we are planning to aggregate contributors for shoots are: • San Francisco Bay Area • Boston • NYC • Los Angeles • UK (Oxford, Cambridge, London; possibly, Scotland - Edinburgh / St Andrews) As we work to determine who our contributors will be, we will concurrently be researching potential verite shooting locations where we will film some of our contributors at work. These are smaller shoots at various labs, research sites, and interesting locations will provide compelling visual representation of the work being done in the various fields as presented in the 13 episodes of "Radical Breakthroughs". Beginning in December, although primarily in January, we will be in high pre-production gear — scheduling shoots, hiring crews and equipment, booking locations, acquiring permissions, and coordinating with contributors (arranging their travel when needed, which it will often be, because our best experts are located in diverse places). There will likely be additional recce trips. We estimate that our core production cycle — the period when we will be filming in the various locations — will be from February through August 2019. During this same time period, we will be updating and iteratively simulating each of the episodes as we increasingly record actual interviews and discussions, and verite scenes, thus informing our episodes with real material Throughout the shooting period, we will also be concurrently preparing for post- production by ingesting and organizing media, obtaining transcriptions, etc. — both for the PBS TV episodes and for the web videos. Full post-production will begin around July/August, and we anticipate begin delivery of completed episodes beginning around October / November 2019. EFTA01021804 It is important to recognize that because our marketing strategy for "Radical Breakthroughs" is an entire dedicated CTT season of 13 episodes (in contrast to 13 episodes over 3 or 4 seasons — which we did for an earlier series of 12 episodes on Free Will), we will need to have certainty when we will have all 13 episodes completed and ready for broadcast before we can begin working with our PBS distributor for a firm national roll out to the PBS stations. We expect that we will have certainty of completion by around October / November, such that we can give our PBS distributor the green light to market with specific delivery dates. Final delivery of TV episodes will be at the end of 2019 and early 2020, such that national broadcast on PBS stations can begin soon thereafter, because we will have already committed to the delivery schedule a few months prior. In addition, web aspects of "Radical Breakthroughs" is a major focus. We will be uploading and streaming a large number of full videos (7-10 minutes, modestly edited). We will be creating a new, dedicated section ("neighborhood") on the Closer To Truth website for "Radical Breakthroughs". We are already in discussion with web developers who have built the Cri website.
