I've been discussing some ideas with our mutual friend Jeffrey (in bcc) and it sounds like there may be overlap with some of your interests. As he may have mentioned -- we've been brainstorming on plant (neuro)biology and how we might translate some of those lessons beyond plants. Maybe a little different from what you are currently working on - but there is one other area that might be very interesting to explore together and that is around your interest in optogenetics and light in the brain...
