FINEST KIND MARINE SERVICES, LTD. (.1,Va HOWE MARINE SURVEYS Mailing Address 6501 Red Hook Plaza Suite 40 St Thomas, VI 00802-1306 Phone/Fax Office Location East End Boat Park Suite 25 6200 Estate Frydenhoj 56 e-mail: RECOMMENDED PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE MEASURES TO BE PERFORMED WHILE YOUR VESSEL IS HAULED OUT 1. Check all metal through hull fittings for pitting or wastage. Replace as necessary. Check all nylon through hull fittings, especially near waterline, for sun damage resulting in weakened exterior flanges. Replace as necessary. 2. Disassemble all gate, ball or taper valve seacocks, clean, lubricate and reassemble. Make sure the seacocks move freely and easily prior to launching. 3. Inspect all hoses connecting to the seacocks. All hoses attached to seacocks below the waterline should be in good condition and secured to the seacock with double hose clamps. Replace hoses and/or hose clamps as necessary. 4. Check the double hose clamps on the shaft log. Replace as necessary. 5. Check the stuffing boxes for the propeller shaft and the rudder post for any past leakage. Repack gland as necessary. 6. Clean the bilge of all oil, sand, fuel, water and other residue. Dispose of oil and fuel properly. 7. Check the shaft, strut, propeller or rudder zincs for proper wastage. Replace as needed. 8. Check the cutless bearing for excessive wear. Replace as necessary. If the cutless bearing is replaced, realign engine to shaft when the vessel has been launched and has settled for a few days. 9. Check to see that the rudder moves easily and without binding. Repair as necessary. 10. Prepare wetted surface for renewal of the anti-fouling bottom paint. Apply at least two coats of bottom paint to the wetted surface with a recommended third coat along the waterline. 11. Check the propeller for any pitting or wastage. Check the pitch and balance of the propeller if any damage is sighted. Repair if necessary. 12. Save enough money to pay the bill at the boat yard so they will launch your yacht so you can enjoy the fruits of your labor. 6/2004BASE/BOATYARD.WPS EFTA01087699
