Before talking with Diana, we might want to dissect, critique, and modify the psychophysical methods and independently corroborate the results before doing any brain measures. Measuring bold signal in the inferior colliculus and cochlear nucleus as well as Heschls and other cortical ROIs might be revealing given the multiple auditory brainstem commissures. I discovered this week that the Special Olympics are in LA this July - not a hotel available in Covel or anywhere else in the city! It is looking like Friday-Saturday, August 14-15th will be the dates of the symposium, with the public event on Friday and maybe Saturday AM- workshops will be on Saturday. There will be a dinner for faculty and guests at the Faculty Center Saturday at 7pm. So far, functional imaging faculty from the various campuses, in addition to you, include Scott Grafton and Martin Monti. I am hoping to meet with Marco Iacoboni this month. Might you have any suggestions re: colleagues working in relevant areas of Cognitive Neuroscience or Neurology at UCI, UCSD, and UCB? I will follow up soon with a first draft of the Symposium. My Music Mind & Brain course started this week - syllabus is attached. Needless to say, you have an open invitation to join the 25 students and I. Cheers, Mark EFTA01153891
