Does the Palestinian Authority Condemn and Prevent Terror?
Many people have forgotten, but one of the principal reasons
that Israel decided to recognize the PLO and engage in peace a:/v1yths & Facts:
talks was because Ia_s_s_e_r Arafat renounced the use of 2012
terrorism and other acts of violence. Sadly, peace has not
been achieved primarily because terrorism has never ceased.
Instead, during negotiations subsequent to the
Oslo
agreements, the Palestinians repeated their promise to end
terror in an effort to extract additional concessions from Israel.
This pattern has continued to the present day when
Palestinians

Israel
while,
simultaneously, encouraging violence against Israelis.

Academic Foxes Guarding the Hen House
Universities have been very successful in preventing anyone outside the
faculty from exercising any oversight on what goes on in classrooms and
lecture halls by hiding behind the mantra of academic freedom. Perhaps this
would not be such a problem if there was any consistency in enforcement of
academic freedom, but, when it comes to Jews and Israel, there is not. As
many commentators have noted, the types of things regularly said and
promoted on campuses about Jews and Israel are never tolerated when they
are directed at women, ethnic minorities or gay students. What's worse is
that academic departments often sponsor some of the most non-scholarly
and blatantly anti-Semitic speakers and programs, giving them the veneer of
respectability and the imprimatur of the university.

For the First Time, Israel Names Muslim-Arab As Deputy
Police Commissioner
The Israeli police force welcomed its first Muslim-Arab deputy police
commissioner in February 2016. Jamal Hakroush, who since 2010 had
served as the Deputy Chief Officer of the Coastal Police District, was
appointed to his new position by Security Minister Gilad Erdan. Hakroush will
head a new division within the Israeli police force, tasked with promoting law
enforcement in Israel's Arab sector, and recruiting fellow Muslims and/or
Arabs to join the force.
