From: "Origins Project at ASU" < To: <[email protected]> Subject: A message from Lawrence Krauss & The Origins Project at ASU Date: Fri, 19 Dec 2014 00:55:42 +0000 To view this email as a web page go here. ;!'1)PMaroonAC _Imkweb44 Hello from the Origins Project at ASU: If you've been keeping up with the Origins Project at ASU through our emails, FaceBook, website, and Tweets, then you'll agree that the momentum we created several years ago continues to grow. I travel quite a bit, so I'll confirm that - worldwide - many share a hunger for substantial, gutsy, provocative discussions about science, our origins, and our future. Many are attracted to the notion that to change our future we must understand our origins. At the Origins Project we invest in talent, technology, and professional content to focus on the most current, interesting and insightful ideas that are changing the world. With enthusiasm, focus, and intensity, we bring the best and brightest to our public Great Debates and Origins Project Dialogues; we create active worldwide participation in our Academic Workshops; and we recruit outstanding individuals as Visiting Professors. Bringing together the world's top thinkers for intensive discussions and providing them a forum to reach the public takes resources, and our budget has limited what we can do. We want to expand our efforts - creating more Origins Project workshops and public events and involving many more people in both. Now I'm asking for your help. Specifically, I ask that you partner with the Origins Project to reach our $1 million goal. Your charitable gift of $1,000, $500, $250, $118 or your personalized gift amount maintains our EFTA01194555 momentum and brings the Origins Project to people throughout the world. Whatever your level of generosity, please know that you are making a difference as we explore the most challenging, interesting and exciting issues of our day. Click here and be taken to our secure donation site. When you make a gift to the Origins Project you: • Facilitate change. • Maintain momentum. • Nurture community. • Inspire wonder. • Create choices. • Think outside the box. • Invest in the future. Learn more about our Annual Campaign by clicking here. The Origins Project Works because of you. Now we are planning to scale up our efforts to dig more broadly into areas like: the history of ideas, the origin of life, artificial intelligence, complex systems, consciousness, disease, population growth - you get the idea. We have some great programs lined up for 2015 and some great ideas for the next five years. We have plans to double the number of workshops and events we hold each year and partner with leading institutions worldwide to expose global audiences to these ideas. With your help, we can make it happen. There is so much more to do. Join us and see how much we can do together. Thanks very much, „:,LMKsignature2014 Lawrence Krauss Director, The Origins Project All funds will be deposited with the ASU Foundation for A New American University, a separate nonprofit organization that exists to support Arizona State University (ASU). Gifts in support of ASU are subject to foundation policies and fees.
