2014 REGISTRATION UPDATES TO: All persons required to register in Florida as Sexual Offenders or Sexual Predators FROM: The Florida Department of Law Enforcement, Florida Sexual Offender/Predator Registry EFFECTIVE DATE: OCTOBER 1, 2014 This is a courtesy update regarding several changes to Florida's registration laws for sexual offenders and predators which are effective October 1, 2014. Please Note: This notification highlights some of the registration requirements that are new or updated and does not include all of the requirements listed under F.S. 943.0435 and F.S. 775.21. "Transient residence" means a county where you live, remain, or are located for a period of 5 or more days in the aggregate during a calendar year and which is not your permanent or temporary address. Registrants should submit this information either by visiting their local sheriff's office to complete an information update or through the online Cyber Communication System (CCS). In CCS, registrants currently have the option to submit either an email address or Instant Messenger (IM) name. Registrants should enter all non-email "Internet Identifiers" via the instant messenger (IM) name option as outlined below.
