Israeli Jews are a principal target of the Islamists, but the extremists have had little success in their holy war against Israel. Iran and its allies, as well as ISIS, have, however, made gains in battling the apostates in Syria, Iraq, and other Arab countries as the Arab Spring transformed into the Islamic Winter.
