Jeffrey,
Met with 2 reps from Associated Air today at BBJ,. Gene Carter Mx sales and Glenda with interior
design.
They brought some samples along as well, in photos below,.
Gene will provide firm quote in 2 weeks while they research Mod status of the BBJ in regards to radar,
lower cabin altitude mod, and plating cost from Gold to Nickel.
With new floor plan change, we'll need approx 6 more rapt chairs,. Gene informs BBJ has 16G seats.
Our 727 had 9G seats, we could use the seats from 727, however, they could NOT be used for Takeoff
and Landing. Gene estimate Seat frames at $50k each, depending on options: such as Seat rest, lumbar,
electric, etc, and once covered, $125k Each. There is a savings using some of the 727 seat frames. If
you use our 9G seats, the FAA regulations for density of seat foam is much less restrictive, compared to
16G build up foam regs, we have to clarify with Eric.
LCA
Lower Cabin Altitude (LCA) mod cannot be accomplished by Stambaugh in my opinion after speaking
with Gene,. A lot of Log book research, liaison with Boeing and the STC holder which I believe he said
was Lufthansa is required.
Work scope:
-Radar upgrade,
-Wife KA band
-Interior soft goods
-floor plan change.
-exterior paint.
-counter tops
-wood resurface
Gene provided general price, since they refurbish 4 BBJ per year, and many Green completions.
Wood, sand, stain and clear to darker color, $600k to $800k,
—he informs $1.4M for re Laminate of wood. Gene didn't think our wood needs re-Laminate, he thought,
sand, stain and clear would make like new,. Maybe some wood repair or replacement of Galley and
entrance by fwd door.
-changing Gold Plating to Nickel or chrome is $300 to $400k, Plating alone is approx $200k, the rest is
labor intensive, with switch panels,.
-Airline quality paint job is $175k / VIP Corporate Paint $350k, With High build paint, I don't see the
benefit of a VIP paint, since BBJ would not be in Hanger.
These are only Budgetary numbers, at this time.
