IRS taxpayer advocate assigned case to EFTA_R1_00053138 EFTA01753585 local app=als agent I have been working with. Bottom line result is that IRS appeals=will be abating approximately 92% of the penalties we requested abatement =n back in 8/12. They will also re-calculate the interest once the penalties are removed for 04, 05 06 &am=; 07. I will keep you posted on this as the final actions may take anywher= from 4-8 weeks to be posted into system. I estimate that the total reduct=on will be approx. 284k in penalty reduction/abatement and once the interest adjustment is made the total cou=d well exceed 300k. I will let you know once we have account transcripts t= reflect the adjustments. IRS will also be sending out letters once the ad=ustments are made. Please let me know if you have any quest=ons in the meantime. I am happy to report this news as this brings us very=close to the conclusion of this phase.
