As you know he has been working / =nterning with the event dept coming in between and part and full time =asis. When we spoke he expressed that while he appreciated =earning about events from a sales perspective, he was really under the =mpression that working in events he would be working on =118220:productions" ie: really coordinating — floral, linen, =ighting, china etc — all of the large scale production / detail =ork — which is not what our special events team does. We do =ave some larger more production oriented events but the majority of our =read and butter is high volume event sales. I suggested to Sam =hat he attend the set up in Nov and Dec of some of these larger events =o learn. Karin is sending him a schedule as they book to plan his =ttendance. Sam and I also discussed with Andy Kelly at 1920 =unker Club — setting up a trial for a gay night. We =entatively chose Sunday Dec. 4th. Sam was going to be =ooking into promoter costs via his friends that do this and is to be =ending me a proposal for how the night would run. We discussed =his being a one time trial for now and potentially a monthly Sunday =ight party. Sam was also looking into having it on the same night =t a gay toys for tots event which is EFTA_R1_00086440 EFTA01773561 highly attended and this could be = good after party (his idea). Sam has also expressed interest in =oing a night life trail with our nightlife operators and also with =endy at Kibo (not set up yet). When I spoke with Sam he is very =nterested in nightlife and possibly event production but has still not =eft his dream of fashion styling behind. He seemed concerned that =aybe he should try to focus on that more and not ready to let that =o. As =iscussed maybe Sam should do a trail with Gigi on floral and styling =ext as an option. Sam is a great guy and we have loved having him =round the office, he is very helpful and I know he was concerned he was = burden but NOT AT ALL. I will =oop you into an email from Sam about next steps with gay night so you =an connect with him about supporting his =egotiations.
