From: Paul Tweed Sent: Sunday, July 3, 2011 5:36 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: Update Jeffrey, Just by way of update: i) Daily Telegraph Still no response back fr=m the Telegraph, which is, to say the least, unusual. I spoke to David Price, who=appears more concerned about getting his account paid than becoming involv=d, but he did indicate that he had received no contact from the newspaper.=/font> While I appreciate that y=u do not want to be exposed to litigation, one option that might bear frui= would be a complaint to the PCC. Although we are technically outsid= the two months time limit, the PCC have a discretion to extend time where the complainant has been in contact with t=e newspaper concerned. The attraction about such a complaint is that=we can adopt a two pronged approach in complaining not only about the inap=ropriate use of the word "paedophile", but also the newspaper's failure to acknowledge, never mind address, o=r complaint. If we were successful in =aving the complaint upheld, then this could be used as a basis to pressuri=e the Mail and other publishers to at least remove the offending on=ine references. ii) <=>Marie Claire magazine I'm still awaiting your a=proval to release my proposed response. iii) I haven't heard back from=either her PR rep or solicitor, with both having given the impression that=their client would be speaking to you direct with a view to breaking the i=passe over the wording and distribution of the proposed letter. Have you had any word back from her?<=div> I look forward to hearing=from you. Kind regards.
