Jeffrey,
The painting isn't something that can be "pawned," even to Christies. nevertheless, I heard from
Stephen Hawking (who I know) two days ago, that he is seriously interested pursuing the
painting for either himself or Cambridge University in the price range that I was looking for.
Stephen, however, can't be rushed, as he is also very busy, and I will need to let it take its
course. The Huntington Library and Art Collections are also interested in the painting, but this
too, will take some time.
I have assets, but as I said to you, it is an immediate and bad liquidity problem for the next two-
three months, and I am actively trying to generate some necessary funds.
Is there someway I could make this work for you, in terms of either a payment for a sculpture,
support for my work, or a interest bearing loan? Looking for about $30K and repayment in 3
months or before.
Also, please let me know if you would be available on Sunday morning to talk to Michael
Douglas.
Appreciatively,
