if you recall, we talked about no need to have inspiration they got it right. be that as it may, we
need to make them work.. gilt flowers were always carved from the colums, but accented. . as i
said thaey look brand new as if they were made last week with tortoise shell inserts the only thing
that stands out. . if you go back to our original emails with respoect the big library the comments
are the same. the room can be great but it needs a great deal of work.

Thanks for your comments.
I) The cabinets were INSPIRED in EL ESCORIAL, not copied . EL ESCORIAL doesn't have
carved columns, nor grotto frieze nor marine fauna. The corniche has no relation with the
original, this one has an extraordinary carving. There is nothing "missing" at the top. This
Bibliotheque is MY design, as I said with references to EL Escorial, is not design by the
Jesuists.
2) The animals and insects were left that colour so they can look as carved from the timber used
in the cabinets, and not applied little things, but if you want we can discuss that in situ. J.P.

please also note that the top of the cabinets in the escorial. are missing from francellis work,
that is why the cabinets look as if they had their heads chopped off f.
