I preflighted the Gulfstream last night and noticed my normal oxygen system was reading zero,. we have 3 small 48.3 cu in bottles in nose of aircraft and 2 large long range bottles under the floor boards that are 115 cu in,. I lost pressure in the three 48 cu in bottles in the nose, but have full long range bottles that are 115 cu in each,. Due to the heat in NYC this past week, we blew the pressure reducer valve for my normal bottles located in the nose compartment for the three nose bottles,. we have enough oxygen in the long range bottles to complete the NY - St Thomas flight if we had an emergency and would require oxgen„. however. Meridean has located a value and is installing it at this time, and we should be fine for tomorrow's flight,. just wanted to give you heads up, in case something happens during this installation of the pressure reducing valve. I'm glad I preflighted early, this gave me time to run the Duration of oxygen charts to determine how much 02 is required for a 3+20min flgiht in case of depressurization,. our GIl is equipped with far more oxygen for North Atlantic crossings in case of a depressurization emergency,. FYI- one 48 cubic inch bottle can supply two people oxygen for 3 hours and 40 min at cabin altitude of 30,000 when selected to 100% oxygen, and 2+30 min at cabin altitude of 15,000 ft.. my long range bottles are total 230 cu in,. thx,.
