I'm seeing Neil Gershenfeld on Wednesday afternoon. I just jumped in to help a little with the Templeton grant, and I understand you arc likely to match it. Joi and I had a good conversation about this Friday night. I'm beginning to think you're right... that the Advisory Council is the best affiliation for me and that it doesn't make sense to go beyond that. I don't summarize easily. I tend to offer value across a lot of different areas and have gotten sucked into a lot of free consulting here (al. I doubt that will be satisfying over the long term and I'd like to be making more money than I'm spending (and free consulting is not the path to that). I'd also like to feel like I have time to explore my own ideas. In companies, I've always been sucked into "Special Projects" type roles and then have often created groups and done work across areas. I've always thought of this as inter-disciplinary, but when Joi talks about anti-disciplinary, and working in the "white space," I do resonate with that. ith I static' to ma wit tin a bout nd he loved the ideas.... Meanwhile, today is a writing day and I'm working with someone later this week to get a sense how to package my writing/ideas for a book (finally). Still enthusiastic about spending a lot of time on this coast, and still working out the details. And the best thing is that I'm feeling good.
