Saurabh talked to Yuri and again discussed a situation. They again concluded the same thing - they can't do a fund as they can't allocate enough time to it. Yuri's office is in the process of scheduling a call with Yuri and me (in 1-3 days) to discuss it. Saurabh asked whether I re-consider the option of going back to Bill so we can make joined private investments - they from DST and me from Bill's side. I told them this is not an option for me - I resigned to work on a new career and a fund. Bill agreed to helped and I can't go back right now. He asked me what I am planning to do - I said that I need to think through carefully. That I am not excluding an option re finding a different partner and starting a fund - thus, I would like to have a detailed conversation about messaging - I am concerned that changing a story might significantly hurt me with few LPs. He said that they are happy to discuss various messages to help me. That they think that messaging that Yuri simply does not have enough time for another (different) fund (as the current is much larger and currently super busy) send out a good message. I explained how this is not a case. I asked if they would be willing to help me with their LPs if I decide to start a fund. He told me that they would need to think about it. All together sucks big time and is a huge blow to me. Nevertheless I am feeling much better today and thinking of various options - some creative. Will talk to you tmr. THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING!
