The boss leaves today out of HNL for Dubai after a long stay outside the country. Anything I am now about to talk about in this email is of course immediately superseded by anything Jeffery and Sultan may have to say. Things will really start to pick up speed in our neck of the woods now that we head out of summer. Thanks for accommodating the guy from Pro-Tech. Everyone - literally everyone - I talked to had no background in a VIP 727. They all had a lot of time evaluating 727 transports but this had them scratching their heads for something to refer to. A lot of the independents evidently earn their bread and butter on appraisals and we were not interested in the market value except as would relate eventually to insurance. Anyway, Pro Tech is there to report on the physical condition independently. Unless the report is unfavorable Sultan wants to proceed immediately with proposals on the interior upgrade, IFE systems, internet options and an addition to both lavatories if feasible. I am building up a full overview of our preliminary program but until then I just want to speak as straightforward and frankly with you either by phone or email about what I am hearing, seeing and thinking. I am responsible for the overall execution of the program. I will delegate certain aspects of it as we go along - probably to Matt - but the chain is simple: me then Sultan. 1. Interior Upgrade - With a finished "map" of the interior furnishings I will be EFTA_R1_00435772 EFTA01961103 meeting with the Designer in Dubai next week (she is British) to bring her up to speed on the exact interior surfaces, pieces, flooring etc. that need to be addressed. From this I expect her to select a color palette and texture for use through the various cabin spaces and communicate this through numbered Pantone or similar system. Once Sultan approves this I will organize it into a request for proposal detailed enough to get some quotations on the purchase and install of the plan. (I am hoping you can provide me with some of the vendors you mentioned). We'll get fast decisions made on what can and cannot be done and what should be done now and what should be delayed for later. Once the scope of work is whittled down to what is really needed now and all parties agree we'll proceed with this work. 2. IFE Systems Based on the research we do Sultan will decide what he would like to do at this time. This includes Airshow and Apple TV movies. 3. Internet Options We'll get quotations on high and low speed installations and Sultan can let us know what he wants to do. 4. Lavatories Modification Sultan has requested that instead of a flexible bidet hose to be installed in the 2 lavatories that we research what is currently being used in many Japanese and Asian (modern) toilets, where the fold down seat contains the "bum sprayer". He is aware of what it took to get the bidet-hose arrangement installed in our 550 and what it presented in the way of added electrical, pump and hose. All this and a lot of money. Housekeeping These items are those that are on his radar today and by extension - on mine. There is a huge amount to do before Sultan is doing what he wants to do with this aircraft but so far it all seems possible and I intend to enjoy the challenge. I am going to apologize in advance now for endless email questions that will arise in the coming weeks. I will not harangue you when an email stuffed with questions go unanswered for a few days; I know you are busy with the new aircraft and the demands of your position and I am one of the few who can honestly empathize!
