FLV I agree this is one version of interpretation The interpretation that makes since to me is that this verse came during a battle where some Muslim tribes were collaborating with some jewish and Christian tribes against their brothers so the verse came as a warming but limited to that war time as you know The Quran permits men to Many Christmas and Jews in fact one of the prophet wives was Jewish and another was Christian So it doesn't make sense that the quran will say you can many them but can't be friends to them?
