In case you arc interested, here's what came out of that last conversation we had about my Center: 1. Our Mission: We make Behavioral Science relevant 2. This means two things: (a) we convene groups to solve important problems; (b) we put information into the hands of people who can use it 3. To accomplish these goals we host groups we define as well as ones people bring to us, and we also host a number of "outreach" events and activities. 4. We focus in large part on post-docs because they are still impressionable, and what we do is different - we are filling an unfilled niche, making Behavioral Science relevant; we want to leverage by training young people to carry on the work. I'm off to France tomorrow, and then some tiny town in Holland (to attend the meeting of, no joke, an organization called "Some Institutes of Advanced Study"--the major function of which seem to be to exclude OTHER institutes...
