BRAINNOVATION
i just made up that word. but i like it.
there's a lot of cool stuff to try that i want to try with you.
some of the things fall within my skill set, many are not.
HAVE AN IDEA!
would you consider endowing like you did for harvard - a small institute maybe even at the UW
super small. tiny staff (one administrator and probably me).
endow it with an end date! the 10 year institute.
could make it super innovative and put it in the department of neurosurgery.
i want to figure out:
1. (my nobel prize, i will share it with you!) vagus nerve
2. cool schizophrenia idea
3. how brain parasites get to the brain (i think they follow the "myelin highway by eating myelin = food source)
but no one knows
4. what happens to baby if you get matemal flu into neural tube (would have to be animal study)
plus it would be a cool place to test out ideas that we could be in charge of.
would do it in a really different way than all other institutes:
- contract work (instead of full time faculty)
- scholars in residence and not required to be in Seattle
- quarterly convenings with really crazy people...
- neat metrics
WOW that would be fun
