They are very similar to the German Shepherd's and are also used as protection/police dogs. They have a shorter coat which may be better in the island climate and are very handsome dogs. My dog, Button, is possibly a Dutch Shepherd mix and I think she is incredible.. smart, protective, responds well to commands, learns quickly, and is just a great companion.
