I know that Delta usually has some special rates on Wednesdays, other airlines - no clue. In general - common rule for all airlines - there are special fares - 21, 14, 7 and 3 days in advance. Most International flights usually better to get tickets in advance. Some airlines have promo fares during certain period of time...Hard to tell, due to I only getting emails from emirates, due to have account with them... For domestic flights we have - most of the time - special discounts with Delta and Americans. If you have frequent flyer numbers, you should receive those type of emails... I know online there are special tools fro watch the fare, but I never used it...(I put the desired rout and the date and computer sends you messages when it is time to book)...
