JEFFREY EPSTEIN INVESTIGATION 08/27/2019 UPDATE Child Sex Trafficking: 31E-NY-3027571 • On 08/27/2019, a court hearing took place in SDNY to formally drop charges against Epstein. The judge did not provide a response to the request to dismiss the indictment and will provide his decision at a later date (TBD). Twenty-three victims were present during the hearing, with a majority providing a verbal statement and seven victims providing written statements. FBI NY anticipates additional victims will be coming forward as a result of today's hearing. • On 08/27/2019, following the hearing, the USAO held a conference with the • victims. In attendance were FBI NY EM, FBI NY Case Agents, FBI NY Victim Specialist (VS), along with SDNY USA and AUSAs. FBI NY and USAO expressed their continued commitment to the investigation.
