I wanted to let you know that the BBC contacted the US Embassy press office last night asking if the FBI would like to comment on the fact that "the FBI is expanding its investigation into Prince Andrew." It has been widely reported in the press here in the last 12 -18 hours that Prince Andrew has declined an invitation to be interviewed by the FBI. If you could lend any clarity to this for our situational awareness, we would be grateful. Obviously, we advised the Embassy press office that the FBI wouldn't be providing any comment from London, and the DCM has also directed that no comment be provided from the embassy.
