Also known as: Deripaska, Oleg Vladimirovich Deripaska

According to DOJ-released documents indexed by Epstein Exposed, Oleg Deripaska appears in 54 case documents, and 2 email records in the Epstein files.

Oleg Deripaska is a Russian oligarch who built his fortune in the aluminum industry through RUSAL and the Basic Element conglomerate. He was sanctioned by the United States Treasury Department in April 2018 under Section 241 of CAATSA for his ties to the Russian government. Epstein's connection to Deripaska ran through multiple intermediaries. In May 2018, one month after sanctions were imposed, Jide Zeitlin, then CEO of Coach parent company Tapestry, wrote to Epstein: "Separately, do you know Oleg Deripaska or Ivan Glasenberg?" The following day, Zeitlin thanked Epstein "for taking the time today and for your thoughts re Deripaska."

Peter Mandelson, the former UK cabinet minister, also served as an intermediary, with EFTA documents showing Mandelson's office attempted to arrange a meeting between Epstein and Deripaska in Moscow. Deripaska's name intersects with the Epstein case through a separate corruption scandal: Charles McGonigal, who led FBI counterintelligence in New York from 2016 to 2018, was convicted of conspiring with Deripaska and concealing $225,000 in payments. McGonigal's office had jurisdiction over potential investigations into Epstein's foreign intelligence connections.
