Rudy Giuliani (born 1944) served as Mayor of New York City from 1994 to 2001, and later as personal attorney to President Donald Trump. He served as United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York from 1983 to 1989, prosecuting organized crime cases under RICO. In September 2010, Giuliani and Epstein were arranging a meeting through intermediaries: a contact of Epstein's spoke directly with Giuliani, who said he was "happy to meet with Jeff," and Epstein's assistant Lesley Groff coordinated with Giuliani's assistant Maureen to schedule the meeting at Epstein's house on 71st Street. The meeting was offered for September 21, 2010, at either 12:00 or 4:45. Giuliani ultimately cancelled.

In October 2013, Epstein received an invitation from businessman John Catsimatidis to a dinner at the Grand Hyatt Hotel where Giuliani was featured alongside former Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge.
