Court Filing

Also known as: Venerable Tenzin Priyadarshi

Buddhist monk, author, and President & CEO of the Dalai Lama Center for Ethics and Transformative Values at MIT. In May 2015, Joi Ito recommended that Epstein meet Priyadarshi, and from 2015 to 2017 they corresponded about donations and mutual interests. In March 2016, Epstein met Priyadarshi and Ito at the MIT Media Lab. Between May and July 2015, Epstein attempted to leverage both Ito and Priyadarshi to broker an introduction to the Dalai Lama.

In 2017, Epstein's entity 'J Epstein Virgin Islands FD Inc' funneled $55,000 through Education Advance, which then donated $50,000 to Priyadarshi's Prajnopaya Institute for construction of a retreat center. The Prajnopaya Institute later returned the $50,000 after Epstein's connections became public. The connection was reported by MIT's student newspaper The Tech in February 2026. Priyadarshi's name does not appear in any news coverage linking him to wrongdoing; the documented relationship appears to center on Epstein's interest in accessing the Dalai Lama and MIT's intellectual community.
