MCC guard on duty night of Epstein's death; charged with falsifying records
Federal Bureau of Prisons correctional officer at the Metropolitan Correctional Center (MCC) in New York. Noel and fellow guard Michael Thomas were the two officers assigned to monitor Epstein's unit on the night of August 9-10, 2019, when Epstein was found dead. Both officers were charged with falsifying prison records and conspiracy for failing to perform required inmate checks and then fabricating log entries to conceal their failure. Surveillance footage showed both officers appeared to be sleeping and browsing the internet during their shifts. The charges were later dropped in May 2021 after both agreed to complete community service and cooperate with investigations.
