The defense argues that despite the government's initial claims of having strong evidence backed by contemporaneous documents, the discovery produced so far contains no meaningful documentary corroboration of the allegations against Ghislaine Maxwell. The majority of the documents relate to a later time period than the alleged conspiracy. The defense is still reviewing a large production of documents from November 2020.
