Victims' Lawyers Reveal Sealed Evidence and Settlement Details in Epstein‑Maxwell Defamation Case

Victims' Lawyers Reveal Sealed Evidence and Settlement Details in Epstein‑Maxwell Defamation Case The passage discloses that a civil defamation suit filed by a victim against Ghislaine Maxwell was settled out of court with sealed evidence, suggesting undisclosed documentation of an alleged international sex‑trafficking operation. While it names key actors (Jeffrey Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell, victim [REDACTED - Survivor], attorneys Sigrid McCawley and David Boies) and hints at a sizable confidential settlement, it lacks concrete financial figures, dates of settlement terms, or direct links to government investigations, limiting immediate actionable steps but still offering a strong lead for further document retrieval and subpoena requests. Key insights: Victim [REDACTED - Survivor] sued Ghislaine Maxwell for defamation in 2015; case settled in 2017 with evidence sealed.; Roberts' attorney claims a sizable, confidential settlement was paid.; Attorney Sigrid McCawley is linked to high‑profile lawyer David Boies, who has pursued Epstein cases federally.

Even from jail, Jeffrey Epstein manipulated the system | Miami Herald Page 13 of 17 Case 1:19-cv-03377 Document 1-1 Filed 04/16/19 Page 14 of 18 The girls who were abused by Jeffrey Epstein and the cops who championed their cause remain angry over what they regard as a gross injustice, while Epstein's employees and those who engineered his non-prosecution agreement have prospered. By Taking a page from Epstein’s legal team, lawyers representing Epstein’s victims hired private investigators and former police detectives to dig into Epstein’s life. Over the past decade, they’ve tracked down hundreds of people, including dozens of other potential victims; they’ve interviewed Epstein’s recruiters, bookkeepers, housekeepers, butlers, pilots and drivers. They’ve traveled around the country and the world, taking statements and sworn depositions, coaxing people to talk who had previously been too reticent to come forward. In short, they did what criminal prosecutors didn’t do. Some of the information they ’ve learned was given to federal authorities in New York. Edwards said those authorities have shown no interest in opening a new investigation focused on crimes he is alleged to have committed in that state, where he is listed as a level 3 sex offender, the most dangerous category, considered at risk to re-offend, records show. In New York, he has to register every 90 days. Virginia Roberts holds a photo of herself at age 16, when she says Palm Beach multimillionaire Jeffrey Epstein began abusing her sexually. Emily Michot [email protected] Holding abusers accountable In 2015, Roberts sued Maxwell for defamation in New York after Maxwell called her a liar in a news interview. The civil lawsuit was an effort by Roberts not just to clear her name, but an attempt to prove that Epstein and Maxwell operated an international underage sex trafficking operation. The lawsuit was settled out of court in 2017 and nearly all the evidence presented in the case has been sealed. Roberts’ attorney, Sigrid McCawley, claims that Roberts received a sizable settlement, although the amount is confidential. “She wanted to hold her abusers accountable and we were able to do that by bringing this case ... which we ultimately settled very successfully for her,” said McCawley, an associate of noted Bush-Gore recount lawyer David Boies, who has also pursued cases against Epstein in federal court in New York. https://www.miamiherald.com/news/local/article2 19494920 html 4/3/2019

Plaintiffs seek to unseal court filings alleging sexual abuse by Alan Dershowitz in [REDACTED - Survivor] defamation case

Plaintiffs seek to unseal court filings alleging sexual abuse by Alan Dershowitz in [REDACTED - Survivor] defamation case The passage reveals a motion to keep certain filings confidential that contain allegations of sexual abuse by a high‑profile attorney, Alan Dershowitz, on behalf of [REDACTED - Survivor]. While it identifies a potential lead—unsealing these records could provide evidence of misconduct—it lacks concrete details such as dates of alleged abuse, financial transactions, or direct links to powerful political figures. The controversy is moderate, and the novelty is limited given the public nature of the Dershowitz‑Giuffre allegations. Key insights: Defendants Bradley J. Edwards and Paul G. Cassell filed a response to Dershowitz’s motion to keep records confidential.; The contested records are three filings that recount [REDACTED - Survivor]’s allegations of sexual abuse by Alan Dershowitz.; Plaintiffs argue the filings are not confidential and should be part of the public record in the defamation case.

[REDACTED - Survivor] v. Alan Dershowitz – Allegations of Sex Trafficking, NPA Manipulation, and Defamation

[REDACTED - Survivor] v. Alan Dershowitz – Allegations of Sex Trafficking, NPA Manipulation, and Defamation The complaint provides a dense web of alleged connections between Alan Dershowitz, Jeffrey Epstein, former U.S. Attorney Alexander Acosta, and the 2008 non‑prosecution agreement (NPA). It cites specific actions (e.g., alleged drafting of the NPA, defamatory statements, settlement confidentiality) and dates that could be pursued for documentary evidence, witness interviews, and financial‑flow analysis. If substantiated, the lead would expose potential prosecutorial misconduct and high‑level collusion, generating major public outrage. Key insights: Roberts alleges she was trafficked by Epstein from 2000‑2002 and forced to have sex with Dershowitz.; Dershowitz is accused of helping draft and pressure the government into the 2008 NPA that shielded Epstein and co‑conspirators.; Acosta, then U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida, approved the NPA; later became Trump’s Secretary of Labor.
