Hi
Because of the many holidays in May and the Embassy being closed for them, the Consular section is booked solid, but I
have been told the following by my colleagues from Consular:
"She first needs to make an appointment. She can do that either online or by calling the call center
(http://france.usembassy.gov/niv/appointments.html). It is doubtful she will be able to get an appointment on
Wednesday or Thursday as the wait time for work visa appointments is about 7 working days. However, appointments do
open up if there are cancellations, and the call center can help tell her if there are available appointments next week. I
assume she has an approved petition for whichever type of work visa she will be applying for. We usually do return
visaed passports by mail, but if asked, will allow the applicant to pick up personally in case of imminent travel. The visa
is usually ready for pickup in 1-3 days."
I am so sorry I am unable to be of more assistance and I hope you can understand how we cannot influence their work. I
wish her the best of luck and hope it works out.
Thank you.
Abigail

Great, thank you.
The assistant,
, is of British nationality. She has been approved for the work visa, but just needs to
have it put into her passport at the US Embassy. She arrives in Paris on Wednesday morning, so a Wednesday
afternoon or Thursday morning appointment would be best. She also said the Embassy will need to keep her
passport for a bit, but wasn't sure how long they will need it. She was hoping to fly back with Jeffrey to NY on
the 26th.

Hi=,
I will get back to you on Monday as Ambassador Rivkin is currently in the U.S. in reference to his availability.

Is the assistant trying to get an appointment at the U.S. Embassy for a work visa and if yes, what nationality is
she?

Hi Abigail,
Jeffrey wanted to let the Ambassador know that he will be in Paris all next week and would love to go for a walk with him or drink, etc
if he is back in Paris next week.
On another note, Jeffrey has an assistant who needs to get a work visa put in her passport. She arrives in Paris on Wednesday May 23,
and was trying to get an appointment at the Embassy for the 24th, but there is nothing available that day. Would you be able to help get
her an appointment by chance on Thursday?
All the best,
