Hi=,
Because of the many holidays in May and the Embassy being closed for them, the Consular section is booked solid, but I
have been told the following by my colleagues from Consular:
"She first needs to make an appointment. She can do that either online or by calling the call center
(http://france.usembassy.gov/niv/appointments.html). It is doubtful she will be able to get an appointment on
Wednesday or Thursday as the wait time for work visa appointments is about 7 working days. However, appointments
do open up if there are cancellations, and the call center can help tell her if there are available appointments next
week. I assume she has an approved petition for whichever type of work visa she will be applying for. We usually do
return visaed passports by mail, but if asked, will allow the applicant to pick up personally in case of imminent travel.
The visa is usually ready for pickup in 1-3 days."
I am so sorry I am unable to be of more assistance and I hope you can understand how we cannot influence their work.
I wish her the best of luck and hope it works out.
Thank you.
Abigail
