Documents released by the U.S. Department of Justice under the Epstein Files Transparency Act reveal that bestselling author and wellness guru Deepak Chopra maintained a close personal relationship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein from 2016 until Epstein's arrest in July 2019. The correspondence, first reported by CNN on February 23, 2026, includes hundreds of emails and text messages between the two men.

"Bring Your Girls"

The most widely reported exchange came in February 2017, when Chopra invited Epstein on a trip to Israel:

"Come to Israel with us. Relax and have fun with interesting people. If you want use a fake name. Bring your girls. It will be fun to have you."

The invitation came nine years after Epstein's 2008 conviction for soliciting a minor for prostitution, and two years before his 2019 federal arrest on sex trafficking charges. Chopra was aware of Epstein's criminal history at the time of the invitation.

"God Is a Construct. Cute Girls Are Real."

On March 8, 2017, in a text exchange that followed a night out together, Chopra wrote to Epstein: "God is a construct. Cute girls are real." The message came after Chopra had asked "Did you find me a cute Israeli?" and Epstein responded with philosophical musings about cells and awareness. Epstein replied to the "cute girls" comment: "So when the girl says 'Oh my god?'"

In August 2016, Chopra wrote about his biological needs: "I do enjoy the company of younger intellectually sharp and self aware women and love to engage with them to inspire and stimulate them."

"Zero In on Your Prey"

In a text message exchange, Epstein wrote to Chopra: "I liked watching you zero in on your prey. Made me smile." Chopra responded: "I not a predator Just a lover."

After one evening with Epstein, Chopra described the experience as "a blast." He regularly signed off messages to Epstein with "Love" or "XO" and wrote "Anything we share is between us" and "I'm deeply grateful for our friendship."

The Woody Allen Dinners

On November 29, 2017, Epstein's assistant invited Chopra to a 7 PM dinner at Epstein's New York townhouse with Woody Allen and his wife Soon-Yi Previn, and Miroslav Lajcak, then President of the UN General Assembly and Slovakia's Foreign Minister. Chopra confirmed attendance before canceling hours later, saying he was delayed in Washington.

Email records in the Epstein Exposed database show Chopra had previously dined with Allen at Epstein's home. In an August 2016 email (e-1902), Chopra wrote to Epstein: "It was a fascinating evening! I've felt a kinship with Woody because he is tortured by existential dilemmas as am I."

Financial Connections

In 2017, the Chopra Foundation received a $50,000 check from Gratitude America, one of Epstein's foundations, described as funding for scientific research.

Chopra also facilitated Epstein's involvement in a proposed pilot study at UCSD's Center for Brain and Cognition focused on an autistic savant who reportedly displayed telepathy. Epstein instructed his accountant to send $25,000 from Gratitude America to the University of California Board of Regents.

Chopra and his co-founder Poonacha Machaiah sought Epstein's input for their wellness app Jiyo. In July 2017, Epstein visited San Diego so they could present the app's value proposition. Epstein offered to forward their pitch to the "three chairmen of the largest insurers."

Chopra's Response

On February 4, 2026, Chopra posted a statement on LinkedIn and X viewed over 300,000 times: "I am deeply saddened by the suffering of the victims in this case, and I unequivocally condemn abuse and exploitation in all forms. Some past email exchanges have surfaced that reflect poor judgment in tone. I regret that and understand how they read today, given what was publicly known at the time. I was never involved in, nor did I participate in, any criminal or exploitative conduct."

His team described the meetings as "professional, focused on wellness apps and research funding."

Chopra visited Epstein at his homes in New York, Palm Beach, and Paris. No flights on Epstein's plane or visits to his island have been documented.

The Epstein Exposed database links Chopra to 3,674 documents and 10 indexed emails with Epstein.
